Acrylic pigment is a synthetic polymer pigment, invented in the 1950s, is made of pigment powder and acrylic latex. Acrylic latex is also called acrylic resin polymerized latex. There are many types of acrylic resins, such as methacrylic resins and so on, so there are many types of acrylic pigments. Foreign pigment manufacturers have produced a series of acrylic products, such as matte acrylic paint, semi-matte acrylic paint and gloss acrylic paint and acrylic matte oil, varnish, plastic ointment, and so on. Acrylic paints are popular with painters. Compared with oil paints, it has the following characteristics:

1. It can be released with water for cleaning.

2. Quick dry. Paint dries within a few minutes of finishing, rather than waiting months to polish, as oil paintings do. Painters who prefer slow-drying pigments can use retarders to delay the drying time of pigments.

3. When the stain dries, it will quickly lose its solubility and form a tough, elastic and impermeable film. This membrane is similar to rubber.

4. Color is full, dense, fresh embellish, no matter how mediate won't have "dirty" "gray" sense. Stain layer will never have oil absorption hair phenomenon.

5. The work has a long duration. Oil film in oil painting is easy to oxidize after a long time, and becomes yellow and hard, which makes the picture crack easily. In theory, acrylic film will never embrittlement, and will never turn yellow.

6. The biggest difference between acrylic paint and oil painting is that it has the operation characteristics of general water-based pigments, which can be used as both watercolor and gouache.

7. Acrylic plastic ointment contains granular type, and there are coarse particles and fine particles, for the production of texture to provide convenience.

8. Acrylic paint does not cause much harm to human body. Just be careful not to eat it by mistake.

9. Acrylic paints can be used to design your own t-shirts, which can enhance your personality. But it's better to use 100% cotton, and it's white.

It should be noted that acrylic paint should be painted on acrylic paint (GESSO) substrate, not oily substrate. Materials experts also do not advocate the use of acrylics mixed with oil colors, especially do not paint oil paintings on acrylics, mainly for the sake of the permanent preservation of the works. There were no adverse reactions between propylene and oil paints, and the adhesion force was to be tested by time when used alternately.
